The Best Hairstyles For My HEART Face Shape

This week’s edition of #HairTalk brings us to the second-last of the 6 main face shapes and the hairstyles that suit them.

Today we are going to discuss the Heart Face Shape and what hairstyles will best suit it, based on whether you want to bring attention to the shape or away from it.

What is the Heart Face Shape?

The heart face shape usually consists of a wider forehead and cheekbones, with a narrow jawline and chin. Your forehead or cheekbones are the widest part of your face, tapering down to a narrower jaw.

With a Heart Face Shape, you also have the option to bring attention to the shape or take attention away from it.

How To Bring Attention To The Heart Face Shape

Exposing the face will always bring more attention to its shape. Styles as simple as a pony tail, buns or braids will show off your strong features.

Another way to bring attention to the strong features of the heart face shape is to go shorter!

Styles like a Textured Bob will make the shape more prominent.

If you really want to go all out, a blunt bob will really accentuate the shape! Want to go next level? A pixie cut will take you there, and accentuate that heart shape!

How To Take Attention Away From The Heart Face Shape

If you don’t fancy the strong features being as prominent, there is the option to take attention away from it.

To take away attention, the aim here is to decrease the width of your forehead and increase the width of the jawline/lower part of your face.

This makes it more proportionate to your hairstyle.

Keeping the length above the shoulders is advisable, so something like a Shoulder Length Lob would work really well with layers that break away at the collarbone will help take attention away from the forehead, and elongate the face.

Longer layers will also balance out the strong features of the heart face shape as they are sitting below the widest part of the face.

Thanks for reading! We hope you gained some valuable insight into what hairstyles will work with a Heart Face Shape.

As always, we recommend that you discuss with your hairdresser about your face shape and also your hair type. This can give you a great direction in choosing a hairstyle that compliments your face shape.
